Summary of KS2 Results for 2022-2023

Towards the end of Year 6, pupils sit a Standard Assessment Test (SATs) in Reading, Mathematics and Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPaG). These papers are externally marked. The SATs measure pupil’s educational achievement in Year 6, with the ultimate aim of holding schools to account for the attainment and progress they make.

Children sit one Comprehension paper (1 hour), a Grammar and Punctuation Paper (45 minutes) a Spelling Paper (20 minutes) as well as three Mathematics papers. Paper 1: Mental Arithmetic (30 minutes) Paper 2: Reasoning (40 minutes) and lastly Paper 3: Reasoning (40 minutes).

At the end of the academic year 2021-2022 attainment at the expected standard for Year 6 in Reading was (81.6%), was above LA (76.4%) and above National (74.5%). Attainment in Reading at Greater Depth was (32.2%), above the LA (28.5%) and above than National (27.8%).

 At the end of the academic year 2022-2023 attainment at the expected standard for Year 6 in Reading was (74.7%), in line with LA (73.7%) and in line with National (72.6%). Attainment in Reading at Greater Depth was (24.1%), in line with the LA (29.9%) and in line with National (29%).

WRITING 2022-2023

At the end of the academic year 2021-2022, attainment at the expected standard for Year 6 in Writing was (67.8%), in line with the LA (70.2%) and in line with National (69.5%). Attainment in Writing at Greater Depth was (2.2%), significantly below the LA (12.3%) and significantly below National (12.9%).

At the end of the academic year 2022-2023, attainment at the expected standard for Year 6 in Writing was (85.5%), significantly above the LA (73.1%) and significantly above National (71.5%). Attainment in Writing at Greater Depth was (10.8%), in line with the LA (14.4%) and in line with National (13.3%).

At the end of the academic year 2021-2022, attainment at the expected standard for Year 6 in Maths was (78.2%), in line with the LA (77.3%) and in line with National (71.4%). Attainment in Maths at Greater Depth was (36.8%), significantly above the LA (26.8%) and significantly above National (22.5%).

 At the end of the academic year 2022-2023, attainment at the expected standard for Year 6 in Maths was (77.1%), in line with the LA (78.3%) and in line with National (72.9%). Attainment in Maths at Greater Depth was (21.7%), significantly below the LA (31.7%) and in line with National (23.8%).
