Religious Education
RE at St Mary Magdalen’s
As a Catholic school, proud of our faith, but with the knowledge that we are called to love God and to love and serve others, Religious Education plays a vital role in all that we do here, at St Mary Magdalen’s.
The children and staff work hard to develop their religious literacy and knowledge of Scripture and church traditions. We also work on improving our understanding of the Sacraments, the experiences of holy men and women and our knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching.
During these difficult and troubling times, it is always comforting to know that we can call upon God to help us and to guide us.
Here are some links to support your prayer life. Please always use the links with parent / guardian supervision:
Pray As You Go-Amazing prayer activities for adults and children, including the Examen, which is a wonderful meditation.
Catholic Children's Society-This one is about St Jerome – He translated the Bible for us, so that we can know and hear Scripture today.
Catholic Agency for Overseas Development – They have an interactive Kids Zone and also resources for primary school students.
Links will continue to be added here. Please also read the Gospel Gossip, written by Miss Nelson. You will find it on our school’s website. You should also continue to pray for your families and friends, our school, our parishes, our city, our country, and the world. God hears our prayers.
He knows us and we know Him.
